The task

Background & Challenge

Comparison websites face extreme competitive pressure. Users expect not only a transparent overview of the cheapest tariffs, but also lightning-fast loading times and a straightforward switching process:

 

  1. Complex data management: millions of tariff combinations, regional network charges and bonuses must be processed and calculated correctly in real time.
  2. Variety of interfaces: Seamless integration with energy suppliers and central broker interfaces to transmit switching orders without any disruption.
  3. Conversion rate optimisation: A complicated switching process leads to high bounce rates. The user interface had to be radically simplified and optimised for mobile use.
  4. Performance under load: At peak times (e.g. when energy prices rise), the platform must remain absolutely stable and fast, even with extremely high visitor traffic.

We have redesigned and implemented the tariff calculator and the entire downstream switching process as a bespoke web application.
